Case Study · Legal & Settlements

CASH stopped processing settlement claims by hand.

Their team spent up to 85% of its time loading claims, field by field. We automated the filing: import a batch of claims and the system files each one to the settlement portal, about 90% of every form filled without anyone typing.

The problem

The claims process ran the day.

For every settlement, CASH processed each claim by hand: pull the details, type each field, and generate the agreement, one record at a time. It was careful, repetitive work that scaled only by adding people, and it crowded out the work that actually grows the business.

The time spent loading the cases is 80% to 85% of the time we are spending.

What we built

Import a batch. The claims file themselves.

We automated the filing. Import a batch of claims and the system files each one to the settlement's portal: it checks eligibility, fills about 90% of every form on its own, and records the claim number that comes back. The work that ran one record at a time now runs the whole batch unattended. We paired it with agreement generation, assembling the contract from a set of contact details instead of building it field by field.

Being able to generate an agreement from a set of contact information will change our lives, instead of us having to type each field and everything else.

A quick human check on the batch, then done.

I plug in the URL and it fills almost 90% of the fields. It is such an enormous timesaver, so that we focus more on selling and filing than on the other stuff.

The result

The team got its time back.

The claims process that consumed most of the day now runs as a batch. Across the work, the automation eliminated roughly 13,500 hours of manual processing and saved about $450,000, and it freed the team to spend its time on selling and filing instead of typing.

Before

  • Each claim processed by hand, field by field
  • Up to 85% of the day spent on manual processing
  • Throughput capped by headcount
  • Slow to set up every new settlement

After

  • Each claim files itself, about 90% of every form auto-filled
  • Agreements generated from contact data
  • The team focused on selling and filing
  • Every new settlement loads in a fraction of the time
