Case Study · Membership

SIMA members sign in once.

Members were keeping a separate account for every tool, and setting up a new one took about two days. We built single sign-on with Okta across HubSpot, Zapier, and LearnUpon, so one login gets them in everywhere and a new member is provisioned in about two minutes.

4

~200

single sign-on logins every week

2 min

to provision a new member, down from 2 days

The problem

An account for every tool.

SIMA members used several different tools, and each one had its own account and its own login. Onboarding a new member meant manual setup across each system separately, which took about two days to complete, when it synced correctly at all. The friction added up for members and staff alike.

What we built

Sign in once. Get in everywhere.

We implemented single sign-on with Okta across HubSpot, Zapier, and the LearnUpon LMS. When a new member joins, they are provisioned across every connected system in about two minutes. We also built two certification courses on LearnUpon, the Applicators Course and the Business Essentials Course, along with a content library for members.

01

Map the member systems

Inventory every tool and how each handles identity.

02

Introduce Okta as identity provider

Set up Okta as the single source of truth for member login.

03

Connect HubSpot, Zapier, and LearnUpon

Wire each system to accept Okta credentials.

04

Automate provisioning

New members are ready in about two minutes after joining.

The result

One login, everywhere.

Members now have one login across all four connected tools. Around 200 sign-ins happen every week through the single sign-on system. New members are provisioned in about two minutes after joining, and the certification courses give them a structured learning path from day one.

Before

  • A separate account for every member tool
  • About two days to set a new member up across every system
  • Provisioning that did not always sync correctly
  • No central identity for the member experience

After

  • Single sign-on via Okta across HubSpot, Zapier, and LearnUpon
  • New members provisioned in about two minutes
  • Around 200 sign-ins a week through one login
  • Certification courses and a content library on LearnUpon

Making members juggle a login for every tool?

Most projects like this start with an Operations Audit. Two weeks to map the systems and where the payback is.
